The Wreck of the Francis Drake
The wreck of the Francis Drake
To look at her you wouldn't think she was a hero, that many people's lives were saved because of her. She was listing to one side the water almost swallowing her completely. It was a sad sight to see but that was the wish of the crew and people who she saved... she must not b turned into a museum, languishing in port just for another curious group of tourists that had no clue to hr story.
Her powerful engines now sat silent and swamped with sea water, her deck covered with sea weed and bird droppings. The paint slowly peeling and rusting, but it was the crew and passengers who wanted this. If she couldn't be put back into service, let the old girl die a fitting death, not sitting at a dock waiting for a new group of school kids.
So there sits the wreck of the Francis Drake, waiting for the people to repair her and put her back to work.

Re: derelict tugboat
She might have tugged at the heart strings
To be sure the lady could pull
But when she went down
sailors all over town
Had cried she was certainly not dull
