I remember Spring!
We have another big snowstorm due tomorrow night. This is NC for crying out loud! It's not even snow season for us yet and we've had three already.
But, I know spring will come, the iris leaves are pushing up.

I don't mind the snow, spring will come in it's time. As long as I still have a place that has heat, I don't mind the cold either.

Ah, you're used to it Jeff. We aren't down here. For NC we've already had about 3 yrs worth of snow and ice. I want to play out doors! I think we're getting a break in a few days.

Yep! We get it from the Kiwis, pass it on to Western Oz and then the rest of the world. So, thus far, all is well on Thursday March 3.

Hm, maybe that explains why UK days are usually wet. After the travelling half way arround the planet time is obviously in need of a wash.

Ack shirley, I miss the rain and brollies and wellies and playing ninety minutes of footie in mud and rain. Heather, from Ipswich was worth it though.
Bill from Ipswich to a group of his friends. wotcha you lot. Hey, this is Al from Ostraylia, he's our reserve goalie. This is David, Stella, Colin, Diana, Clive and Carol and Heather.
Omni: Wotcha, 'hello, g'day.
Al: G'day.
Heather: Would you like a coffee, Al.
Al: Please.
Heather hands Al her thermos - hot coffee laced with God's gift to the cold and wet. Al sips, sips, sip, sips and smiles.
Al: Gotta change now - see you after?
Bill Yeah. we'll at be at Clive an' Carols. Heather, would you drive Al? (al did not have a car, being a temp resident).
Heather Okay. I'll be in the red mini in the car park.
A good time was had by all and Al even took Heather for a few dinners. and sundry dating thing. came home to Oz. Yep! I miss the rain and being 25.

Re: I remember Spring!
A lovely memoire Al. Thank you. How long after Heather did you meet Cheryl?
Today is beautiful, blue skies, a warm sun though a slight nip still in the air. A good day in fact, for walking through the woods with Max. Back soon

Re: I remember Spring!
This winter has had a bad effect on me. I'm not used to that much cold and several snows. I know our bit of snow wasn't the large amounts some of you get but I simply can't bear to be cold. It was hard for me to even look outside. I find nothing appealing about winter or snow.
Every time I watch a documentary about explorers like Scott, Perry or Amundsen who CHOSE to go to the coldest places on earth where it is perpetually winter, I want to shout at the TV and scream-"WHY???"

Re: I remember Spring!
For some strange reason I was hoping for a harsher winter. Seems most of the storms either went south to you or north to Maine where my family lives. It's pretty messed up when you can't count on the weather to behave like it used to.
Re: I remember Spring!
Well, you could have had some of our cold and snow and I would not have minded one little bit:o)
Re: I remember Spring!
Well, when I was growing up in Maine, I remember the winters that we got had more snow storms and the summers were not so hot after such harsh winters. When we didn't get those harsh heavy snow falls, the summers were hot and humid.
I must admit, as I grow older, I don't like shoveling the stuff like I used to when I was a kid. Then again, I was paid three dollars every time I shoveled the drive way when I was a kid. I don't get anything now.

LOL I think I'm going to raise goats... they seem to be very good at keeping grass short.
Re: I remember Spring!
they are wonderful escape artists! Have a good fence and "maybe" they'll stay put.
